Instant play videos are designed to give your readers the best video viewing experience on every device. Videos are hosted by Sharethrough and track a variety of creative metrics to monitor performance. Please note: You must have a video file available for upload in order to create an Instant Play Video.
From your Campaign screen > Click New Creative.
Select either Instant Play Video.
SAM will review the content URL and attempt to populate the thumbnail, headline and description of the ad unit from this content URL. When users click on your ad unit, the ad unit will drive them to your Content URL. All aspects of your creative can be edited from the next screen. If you do not have a content URL yet, click 'Skip, I don't have a Content URL' and you can add it later.
Smart use of creative optimization is the easiest way to increase the performance of your campaigns. The default setting is to automatically optimize your traffic towards the best-performing variants, but you can also choose to divide impressions equally between all variants.

Third party beacons are sometimes used to verify delivery, but are completely optional. These 1x1 pixels can be fired on the visible impression, click, or video play, and several other tracking parameters. The last step is to upload your video file. You can upload video files in these formats: 3g2, 3gp, asf (streaming for Windows Media Player), avi, dv, flv (VP6), mov (QuickTime multimedia), mp4 (H.264), mpeg, mpg (MPEG-1 and MPEG-2), qt (QuickTime), wmv (Windows Media Video). Video files must be no larger than 1 GB.
We advise that file types do not contain spaces or characters. Example: Video1_Sharethrough.mp4
The Custom Call to Action feature can be customized and lets the user take action after seeing your ad. When enabled, this adds a custom button to your creative when a user engages and watches the video. Additionally, once the video finishes playing silently, the thumbnail image will become a clickthrough to the custom button URL.
If Social Sharing is disabled, this feature will not function. To enable, check the "Social Sharing" button within the "Edit Creative" page.
Now that your creative is setup, click Next: Targeting to proceed with setting up your campaign's targeting specifications.
