Common questions about Native Display Creative
Should I use long or short headlines?
Important note about headlines: DV360 will serve either the long or short headline depending on the publisher placement character limit. As all placements on Sharethrough's inventory are designed to host up to 90 characters, the long headline will always be served, that's why we recommend to always use the long headline. DV360 also requires a short headline to save the creative, but this will not render on Sharethrough placements.
Can I use the square image?
Square images are NOT supported by Sharethrough. (Optional, DO NOT UPLOAD FOR STR CAMPAIGNS)
If you upload a square image, DV360 will generate a separate creative appending "_square" to the creative using the square image, and "_rectangle" to the creative using the rectangular image. DO NOT Assign the “_square” creative to Sharethrough line items.
Is there an easy way to resize the images to meet DV360 specs?
Yes please use following tool to resize your images : http://generator.sharethrough.com/thumbnails/new
*Note that DV360 specs are the 1.91:1 ratio, once you convert the image use the Desktop output.

I created a VIDEO line item but I do not see my Native video in the Creative options.
Native Video are sold on CPM and are part of the display campaign set up in DV360. When creating a Native Video you should create a DISPLAY line item, you'll be able to assign a Native video creative to that line item.
Can I upload a VAST tags?
Unfortunately DV360 currently doesn't accept VAST or VPAID tags for Native Video, but you can add 1x1s on various video events.
Can I link my tracking ad from DCM to my Video creative?
Selecting Campaign Manager tracking ads from your linked Campaign Manager advertiser isn't supported for native video creatives. This is why you won't see this option available when creating a native video creative.
ISI Tracking Tips
If your DV360 account is linked to DCM, you still have to create an Ad tracking ad in DCM for your ISI units.
When creating the ISI unit in the Native Ad Generator;
- Make sure to implement the DCM click tracker in the “landing page” field, as this is your click out redirect
- Do not implement the DCM impression tracker or your impressions will be counted twice
- Any other 1x1 trackers beside DCM should be implemented in the NAG.
When creating the dummy unit in DV360, you’ll be prompted to link your ad tracking ad, that’s how you will record your DCM impressions.
Common questions about PMP setup
I don’t see Sharethrough as an inventory
Please use this support guide to make sure Sharethrough is opted in as a targetable exchange at the Partner Level.
What’s the floor price?
Most of our deals are mult-publlisher deals with dynamic floor price, so we do not have a fix floor. This is for information only, you can input anything you want, it won’t limit your bidding strategy nor your inventory access.
Private auction or Preferred deal?
Use Private auction
Common questions about Bidding strategy
We recommend you use fixed rate, however we do accept automated bid strategies. Please make sure to place a "do not exceed average CPM" to ensure CPMs are not above acceptable goal.
Google active view is currently NOT compatible, so you should not use the "Optimize for a viewable CPM bid" functionality as it will can conflict with the bidding logic, limit delivery and a viewability metric will not appear on the DV360 dashboard.
Common questions about Viewability Measurement
- Which viewability parntners do you accept?
You can implement JS tags from those 5 whitelisted vendors: Adloox, Comscore, MOAT, IAS, and DV.
For more info please refer to the USING THIRD PARTY VIEWABILITY TRACKING guide before adding a pixel to the platform. - Google Active View are not compatible with Native
- The vCPM optimization should not be used as it might create a conflict with the bidding strategy.
- Google Active View Viewability pre-bid should NOT be implemented
Common questions about Targeting and Scale issues
- Google active view viewability targeting is not compatible with any native supply, it can limit and even stop the delivery of your campaign.
- Affinity, custom affinity, and in-market audience targeting are all Google's proprietary products and might have limited reach with non-AdX inventory and cause scale issue.
- Frequency cap - When enabled, this only delivers to cookied users, so you may limit your audience reach (excludes Safari users, in-app users, cookie opt outs, etc… ) If you experience scale issue, loosening the FC will not necessarily help, as the issue is not related to frequency rather than identifying cookied users. We strongly suggest not to use frequency capping.
- Google Content and Brand Safety Filters are Google proprietary products and might have limited scale with non-AdX inventory. If you must use pre-bd filter consider using 3rd party vendor such as IAS or DV filters.
- Language Targeting is a Google proprietary product and might have limited reach with non-AdX inventory and cause scale issue.
Common questions about the deal troubleshooter
I see in the deal troubleshooter that the ad size Sharethrough requests is 230x50 however the specs show 1200x627 and 1.91:1 ratio
The creative mismatch is a UI cosmetic issue, it will not impact delivery. This has been confirmed by the DV360 product team.
I see in the deal troubleshooter that my traffic is sent to another GEO that the one I'm targeting.
Currently we are unable to geo target at the deal level, please implement Geo targeting at the DSP level. You should still have plenty of inventory sent to your GEO.
I see in the deal troubleshooter that my traffic is sent to another Device than the one i'm targeting.
Our deals are set up at the placement level, and some of our placements accept both Mobile and Desktop traffic, and we are unable to differentiate them at the deal level, so please implement the Device targeting at the DSP level.
